Case Study: How One Industrial Supply Order Led to 36 Direct-to-Field Shipments

An urgent bulk order for Certoplast pressure-sensitive fabric tape turned into 36 additional orders shipped directly to contractors in the field — and counting.

The initial bulk order was packed and prepared for overnight shipment to the customer's main facility.

Industrial surplus has value when it can be connected with the businesses that still need it.

Recently, a business customer located Certoplast pressure-sensitive fabric tape in HK Resale's inventory and contacted us with an immediate need. The company placed an initial bulk order, which our team prepared and shipped overnight to its main facility.

But that initial shipment was only the beginning.

From One Bulk Shipment to 36 Direct-to-Field Orders

After receiving the initial order, the customer came back to HK Resale with an additional need: getting the same product directly into the hands of contractors working in the field.

Rather than routing all of the inventory through a central facility and redistributing it themselves, the customer began placing individual orders for direct shipment to the contractors who needed the material.

So far, HK Resale has fulfilled 36 additional orders sent directly to contractors in the field — all stemming from that original bulk purchase.

For the customer, this provides a practical way to get needed material directly where it will be used.

For HK Resale, it demonstrates something at the heart of our business: inventory that may be excess or no longer needed by one company can still be valuable — and sometimes urgently needed — by another.

What began as one urgent industrial supply order has continued to generate individual direct-to-field shipments.

More Than Selling Surplus Inventory

This is a practical example of the role HK Resale plays between companies with excess inventory and the businesses that still need those products.

Through our Asset & Inventory Management process, HK Resale receives and verifies inventory, catalogs and markets products across established sales channels, connects those products with end users, and handles the picking, packing, shipping, and customer service process.

For the original inventory owner, that means surplus products have an opportunity to generate recovered value rather than remaining idle.

For the end customer, it means access to industrial products that may be difficult to source elsewhere — along with fulfillment support to get those products where they're needed.

Putting Industrial Inventory Back to Work

What began as an urgent bulk order to one facility has now resulted in 36 additional direct-to-field orders — and counting.

That's what successful industrial resale can accomplish: connecting available inventory with the businesses and people who can put it back to productive use.

HK Resale — A better way to recover value from excess inventory. More than liquidation.
